Maui

Maui has something to offer everyone. Visitors of this beautiful island have the option of biking and hiking Haleakala Volcano or traveling the winding road to the secluded Hawaiian town of Hana. The most popular attraction of Maui is however, the spectacular white sand beaches. These beaches are easy to get to and provide much to
see and do. Maui is the best Hawaiian island for seeing whales (they can be seen from the shore). There are also many water sports to participate in. Some of the beaches to visit are Kapalua Beach, Napili Bay Beach, Kama'ole Beach Parks, Makena Beach, Hana Beach Park and Kanaha Beach Park.

Kapalua Beach has been listed several times as one of the best beaches of America and the world. This beach allows for safe swimming, as the area is protected by coral reefs and long peninsulas. On clear days Molokai can easily be seen from shore.

Napili Bay Beach is a beautiful white sand beach. Palm trees surround this beach providing shade for breaks from the sun. Swimming and snorkeling are recommended during the summer, and surfing during the winter.

Kama'ole Beach Parks actually consists of three beach parks in the same area. This is considered a family beache. There are many activities available here for the whole family to participate in, such as kayaking, volleyball, waterskiing, snorkeling and diving. Lifeguards are on watch at all three of these parks to keep an eye on the kids.

Makena Beach is known for being separated by a huge cinder cone from a volcano. It splits the beach a large area and also a small section. This is the beach to sunbath on, as it has the whitest sand.

Hana Beach Park is an isolated beach. This particular beach has brown sand rather than white, but is on the edge of calm water. On the beach is a lighthouse, a red cinder cone, and ruins of a landing.

Kanaha Beach Park allows for opportunites to windsurf. There are instructors around to teach all levels of windsurfers, even beginners. Equipment can be rented right on the beach.
