PACKING & THINGS TO BRING ALONG
Pack some of your travel companion's clothes in your suitcase and vise versa so that in case a piece of luggage is lost, you'll both have a change of clothing.

Gather all information possible about the vacation area you will be traveling to. Make sure that you are aware of all aspects of your trip.

Be sure that you don't wear a new pair of shoes for the first time on your vacation. Wear shoes that are broken in to ensure comfort.

If you travel with medicine it's wise to carry it in the bottle the prescription came in to avoid any confusion during custom inspections.

Carry along a pack with snacks, such as raisins or peanuts.

Carry money in the form of travelers checks. They are available through most local banks. Keep denominations to low figures and remember to keep a list of the numbers of the checks somewhere separate from the checks themselves in case they are lost or stolen.

Take an extra pair of glasses or a prescription for your glasses just in case.

Pack as lightly as possible.

Bring a small, lightweight travel alarm.

When packing, make a list of what you're taking with you as a guideline of what to remember to bring when packing up your things in hotels.

Bring along plastic bags to hold such items as dirty laundry, damp items or muddy shoes.
